But there had been\u00a0no scientific evidence that the combination of both tests could actually save lives.<\/p>\r\n<p>The new study is the first to\u00a0track the survival of high-risk women who get MRIs.\u00a0The research\u00a0determined that following six years of follow-up, 93 percent of mutation\u00a0carriers were still living, versus 73 percent\u00a0still alive at five years in other studies, The Times reported.<\/p>\r\n<p>And all the women at a high risk due to their family history\u00a0were alive after six years, according to the latest study.<\/p>\r\n<p>That research was published online in The Journal of Clinical Oncology, and was led by\u00a0Dr. Jan G.M.
